PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA REGULAR MEETING | JULY 14, 2026 AT 6:30 PM CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS | 405 MUNICIPAL DRIVE, KENNEDALE, TX 76060 I. CALL TO ORDER A. ROLL CALL II. PUBLIC COMMENT The Parks and Recreation Board welcomes comments from the public. Those wishing to speak must sign in prior to the start of the meeting. Speakers may speak on any topic, whether on the agenda or not. The Parks and Recreation Board cannot act upon, discuss issues raised or make any decisions at this time. Speakers under citizens’ comments shall observe a three-minute time limit. Inquiries regarding matters not listed on this agenda may be referred to staff for research and/or possible future action by the board. III. REGULAR SESSION A. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS In addition to any items below, the Parks and Recreation Board, the presiding officer, and/or staff may give or receive reports regarding items of community interest, including, but not limited to, recognition of officials, citizens, staff, or departments; information regarding holiday schedules; and upcoming or attended events. 1. Updates from Staff B. CONSENT AGENDA These matters have appeared on previous agendas, require little or no deliberation, or are considered routine or ministerial tasks. If discussion is desired, items may be removed for separate consideration. 1. Consider the approval of June 9, 2026, regular meeting minutes. C. ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION AND/OR ACTION 1. Installation of a shaded concrete table with etched chess, checkers, and backgammon boards at Town Center Park. 2. Addition of solar-powered charging benches to all city parks. 3. Natural larvicide treatment around the shoreline of Sonora Park for mosquito control. IV. EXECUTIVE SESSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 551 OF THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE. If, during the course of the meeting and discussion of any items covered by this notice, the Kennedale City Council determines that a Closed or Executive session of the Board is required, then such closed meeting will be held as authorized by Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Section 551.071 consultation with counsel on legal matters; Section 551.074 personnel matters (1) to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; or (2) to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee. (b) Subsection (a) does not apply if the officer or employee who is the subject of the deliberation or hearing requests a public hearing. Section 551.072 - deliberation regarding purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property; Section 551.073 - deliberation regarding a prospective gift; Section 551.087 - deliberation regarding economic development negotiation; Section 551.089 - deliberation regarding security devices or security audits, and/or other matters as authorized under the Texas Government Code. If a Closed or Executive Session is held in accordance with the Texas Government Code as set out above, the Kennedale City Council will reconvene in Open Session in order to take action, if necessary, on the items addressed during Executive Session. V. RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION, AND TAKE ANY ACTION NECESSARY PURSUANT TO EXECUTIVE SESSION VI. PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MINUTES REGULAR MEETING | JUNE 9, 2026 AT 6:30 PM CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS | 405 MUNICIPAL DRIVE, KENNEDALE, TX 76060 I. CALL TO ORDER Chair Corey Hines called the meeting to order at 6:37 pm. A. ROLL CALL Present: Chair Corey Hines, Place 2 Vanshdeep Signh, Place 3 Develle Coleman. Absent: Place 1 Jasdeep Kaur, Place 5 Tamiko Sargent. II. PUBLIC COMMENT The Parks and Recreation Board welcomes comments from the public. Discuss putting a small pavilion at Rogers Farm Park. Kristian will speak with the City Manager. There are plans to put a shade canopy. 2. Discuss adding perimeter rocks to Rogers Farm Park. Small boulders around the front of the perimeter discourage people from driving up into the park. Kristian suggested a small bricked wall may be more aesthetically pleasing to look at. Kristian will speak with the City Manager. 3. Discuss adding playground shade sails to all the city parks. The City has planned to add a shade sail to Rogers Farm. 4. Discuss updating the 9-hole disc golf course with permanent concrete tee pads and clear signage. Kristian will investigate. The Public Works Department can take care of this in-house. 5. Discuss adding outdoor fitness equipment stations (e.g., pull-up bars and chest presses). Kristian will speak with the City Manager about adding fitness equipment to the city parks. 6. Discuss adding emergency call boxes to all city parks. Consider having an emergency call box because they are automatically connected to 911 dispatch. Kristian will speak with the city manager. 7. Discuss adding a small kayak and canoe launch dock at Sonora Park. Will have to check with Texas Parks and Wildlife. Sonora pond is not a moving body of water, and citizens are not Allowed to swim in the pond. Public Works will investigate and Krisian will speak with the city manager. B. DISCUSSION AND/OR REQUESTS FOR CLARIFICATION OF ITEMS LISTED ON THE AGENDA IV. REGULAR SESSION A. Updates from Staff New playground equipment has been installed in Rogers Farm Park. The city is looking into adding a wheelchair swing. B.
