Meeting Called to Order: 5:34 PM Letts Community Center
Roll Call:
Present: Kevin Bond; Ceci Bordayo; Alice Brinkman; Shirley Carter-Powel; Mary Toshach;

Minutes from August 1, 2022 approved. Toshach moved; Bond second; unanimous approval
New Business:
Election of officers:
Kevin Bond – Chair; Ceci Bordayo – Vice Chair; Mary Toshach – Secretary
Old Business:
Bridge Art I496
Designs concepts presented previously were turned down by Mayor. Design should be
developed which may be incorporated into the bridge/overpass structure, rather than
freestanding.
Discussion ensued regarding readable content with a tagline. IE Welcome to Lansing, A
Tree City.
Rules of Procedures:
Copies of Roberts Rules of Order were distributed
Board Member Responsibilities:
Copies of Policy statement; Commission Purpose; Public Art Guidelines etc were
distributed for discussion. A special working meeting was set for Oct. 17 to update and
refine.
Updates: None
Information: The Wing Fest was a success this year.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:30

9. STATEMENTS OF CITIZENS
All meetings of the Mayor’s Arts and Culture Board shall be open to the public. Those in attendance shall
have the opportunity to speak on any issue related to arts not otherwise on the agenda at the end of the
meeting and may speak on any agenda issue during the meeting after Arts and Culture board members have
had an opportunity to discuss the issue or prior to the board voting on the issue. The Chair may impose a
time limit on public comments.
