MINUTES LAWTON URBAN HOMESTEADING AGENCY (LUHA) SPECIAL MEETING JULY 27, 2010 - 6:00 P.M. WAYNE GILLEY CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chairman Fred L. Fitch, Notice of meeting and agenda were posted on the City Hall notice board as required by State Law. PRESENT: Bill Shoemate, Michael Tenis, Janice Drewry, Robert Shanklin, Richard Zarle, Stanley Haywood (arrived @ 6:03 p.m.), Doug Wells. ABSENT: Jay Burk ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Long, Acting City Manager; Frank V. Jensen, City Attorney; Traci Hushbeck, City Clerk, COL Ray Lacey, Fort Sill Liaison. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE MARCH 9, 2010 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE LAWTON URBAN HOMESTEADING AGENCY (LUHA). MOVED by Drewry, SECOND by Shoemate, to approve the minutes of March 9, 2010. AYE: Tenis, Drewry, Shanklin, Zarle, Wells, Shoemate. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED. _____________________________________________________________________________________ BUSINESS ITEMS: 1. Consider accepting the transfer of two vacant properties from The City of Lawton to the Lawton Urban Homesteading Agency (LUHA) and authoring the Mayor or his designated representative and City Clerk to execute the Quit Claim deed and all associated documents to complete the transfer. Exhibits: The original quit claim deeds, prepared by the City Attorney’s office, are available for review in the HCD office. Tim Libby, Assistant Director for Housing and Community Development, stated they will use these properties in the neighborhood stabilization program to build two rental properties for low/moderate income and donate to the Great Plains Improvement Foundation to manage for the next twenty years. MOVED by Drewry, SECOND by Tenis, to accept the transfer of two vacant properties from The City of Lawton to the LUHA and authorize the Mayor or his designated representative and City Clerk to execute the Quit Claim deed and all associated documents to complete the transfer. AYE: Drewry, Shanklin, Zarle, Haywood, Wells, Shoemate, Tenis. NAY: None. MOTION CARRIED.
