Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The Friday, August 3, 2018 meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 7:01 a.m. in the Lombard Village Hall Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois 60148. B. Roll Call of Members Present: Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey Guests: Police Chief, Roy Newton Fire Chief, Rick Sander Human Resources Director, Kathleen Dunne Fire Administrative Coordinator, Sheila York Police Administrative Coordinator, Barbara Bartolotte C. Approval of Minutes It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to approve the minutes from the regular meeting on June 22, 2018. Motion carried. D. Public Participation E. Payment of Bills The Board received Invoice#2974 from Conrad Polygraph in the amount of $640.00 for polygraphs for 3 police candidates and 1 firefighter candidate; Invoice#196704 from Klein, Thorpe and Jenkins in the amount of $1182.50 for legal services; and Invoice#70260 from Elmhurst Occupational Health in the amount of $1280.00 for medical testing for 2 police candidates. It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to approve payment of all bills. Motion carried. F. Chairperson's Report G. Correspondence The Board received a copy of a memorandum from Village Manager, Scott Niehaus authorizing to proceed with the hiring of 1 police officer; a copy of a memorandum from Chief Newton regarding Officer Mark Pries completing his 2 year probationary period and was recommended he be given "full time" status as a Police Officer. J. Unfinished Business The Board discussed the new proposed firefighter/paramedic candidate testing process and it was decided to keep the current testing process as is. K. New Business L. Other Business M. Executive Session It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to adjourn to executive session at 7:20 a.m. Motion carried. Reconvene The regular meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners reconvened at 7:32 a.m. Present: Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey Guests: Police Chief, Roy Newton Fire Chief, Rick Sander Human Resources Director, Kathleen Dunne Fire Administrative Coordinator, Sheila York Police Administrative Coordinator, Barbara Bartolotte It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to send a denial letter of employment to police candidate, Edward Rodriguez. Motion carried. It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to send a conditional offer of employment to firefighter/paramedic candidate, Matthew Rutten and a denial letter of employment to firefigther/paramedic candidate Mark Gentille. Motion carried. The Board approved to move forward with background investigations for 2 firefighter/paramedic candidates.
