Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The Friday, July 24, 2020 meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Village of Lombard Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois 60148. B. Roll Call of Members Present: Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey Secretary, Kyle Dolan Guests: Police Chief, Roy Newton Fire Chief, Rick Sander Human Resources Director, Kathleen Dunne Police Administrative Coordinator, Barbara Blankenship C. Approval of Minutes It was moved by Secretary, Kyle Dolan, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to approve the minutes from the Regular Meeting on February 26, 2020, June 19, 2020, and the Special Meeting on July 10, 2020. Motion carried. D. Public Participation E. Payment of Bills The Board received Invoice#00121064 from Elmhurst Occupational Health in the amount of $80.00 for a vaccine for a firefighter/paramedic candidate. It was moved by Kyle Dolan, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to approve payment of the bill. Motion carried. F. Chairperson's Report G. Vice Chairperson's Report H. Secretary's Report Village of Lombard Page 1 Board of Fire and Police Minutes - Final July 24, 2020 Commissioners I. Correspondence The Board received a copy of a memorandum regarding the police department Merit and Efficiency Rating for the Sergeant and Lieutenant Promotional Testing process; Memo from Police Lieutenant Malatia addressed to Chief Newton regarding Police Officer Melissa Flores passing her 2-year probationary period and her Certificate of Appointment for Police Officer; copy of a memorandum from Village Manager, Scott Niehaus regarding authorization to proceed with the hiring of 1 police officer; a copy of a memorandum from Police Chief, Roy Newton regarding a Letter of Appreciation addressed to Detective Roman and Detective Franken; and copies of thank you letters from residents addressed to the Fire Department. J. Unfinished Business It was moved by Secretary, Kyle Dolan, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to extend a final offer of employment to police candidate, Esteban Mendez. Motion carried. K. New Business It was moved by Secretary, Kyle Dolan, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to extend a conditional offer of employment to police candidate, Dylan Anger. Motion carried. Police Chief Roy Newton will provide the Board with sealed Merit and Efficiency Points for each candidate prior to the police sergeant and police lieutenant promotional testing process. L.
