Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The Thursday, August 1, 2024 meeting of the Lombard Board of Fire and Police Commissioners convened at 8:00 a.m. in the Village of Lombard Board Room, 255 East Wilson Avenue, Lombard, Illinois 60148. B. Roll Call of Members Present: Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey Guests: Police Chief, Tom Wirsing Fire Chief, Rick Sander Fire Deputy Chief, George Hyland Fire Deputy Chief, Nathan Gac Human Resources Director, Kathleen Dunne Police Administrative Coordinator, Barbara Blankenship C. Approval of Minutes It was moved by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, seconded by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey to approve the minutes from the regular meeting on June 28, 2024. Motion carried. D. Public Participation Village of Lombard Page 1 Board of Fire and Police Minutes - Final August 1, 2024 Commissioners E. Payment of Bills The Board received Invoice #6150 in the amount of $400.00 from Conrad Polygraph for polygraphs for 2 firefighter candidates; Invoice #6184 in the amount of $429.50 from Conrad Polygraph for polygraphs for 3 firefighter candidates; Invoice #SA000058641 in the amount of $990.00 from Stanard & Associates for personality evaluations for 2 police officer candidates; Invoice #SA000057840 in the amount of $990.00 from Stanard & Associates for personality evaluations for 2 firefighter candidates; a bill from Testing for Public Safety in the amount of $11,650.00 for Fire Battalion Chief promotions process; Three bills from Testing for Public Safety each in the amount of $500.00 for assessment center exercises for 3 assessors. It was moved by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey, seconded by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski to approve payment of all bills. Motion carried. F. Chairperson's Report G. Vice Chairperson's Report H. Secretary's Report I. Correspondence The Board received a memorandum from Village Manager, Scott Niehaus regarding authorization to proceed with the hiring of 1 police officer. J. Unfinished Business It was moved by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey, seconded by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, to extend a final offer of employment to police officer candidate, Jorge Barbra. Motion carried. K. New Business Fire Chief Rick Sander discussed with the Board the possibility of removing the paramedic requirement from the firefighter candidate testing process. More information to follow once he confers with Village attorney. It was moved by Vice Chairman, Kenneth Florey, seconded by Chairman, Thomas Rachubinski, to send a denial letter of employment to firefighter candidate, Joseph Biagi. Motion carried.
