Village Hall Village of Lombard 255 East Wilson Ave. Lombard, IL 60148 villageoflombard.org Minutes Community Relations Committee Trustee Dan Whittington - Chairperson Trustee Bill Ware - Alternate Chairperson, Pamela Bedard, Lisa Biegalski, Ahmed Ali, Michael Ledonne, Sharon Vish, Barb Ware, Gladys Piper and Jenny Swensen Staff Liaison - Bridget Doyle Monday, September 9, 2013 7:00 PM Trustees Conference Room 1.0 Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Trustee Dan Whittington at 7:02 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Sharon Vish. 2.0 Roll Call Present 9 - Trustee Dan Whittington, Pamela Bedard, Lisa Biegalski, Ahmed Ali, Michael Ledonne, Sharon Vish, Barbara Ware, Gladys Piper, and Jenny Swensen Also present: Communications Coordinator Bridget Doyle. 3.0 Public Participation None. 4.0 Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Michael Ledone seconded by Ahmed Ali to approve the minutes of the August 12, 2013 meeting. The motion passed by a unanimous vote. 5.0 Old Business A. Seniors 130272 2013 Senior Fair Request to discuss the 2013 Senior Fair. The Committee had a brief discussion about inviting a new vendor to Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes September 9, 2013 Senior Fair 2013 this year as one of last year’s participants could no longer attend. The group also approved inviting Diabetic Shoes, whose contact information had been found before the meeting. The group discussed lunch orders for Senior Fair and who from the Committee could attend the fair on Oct. 2. 130383 2013 Senior of the Year Request to review nominations and determine Senior of the Year Awards. The group discussed the three Senior of the Year nominees: Claude Walton, Jim Ilten and Darrel Haake. The consensus was to choose Mr. Claude Walton as the Senior of the Year, though all Committee members remarked on how great each nominee was for 2013. The Committee discussed asking the nominators of the two other nominees for the award to re-submit for 2014. B. Social Services No report. C. Youth Chairman Whittington said he discussed a Youth Firefighter Program with Fire Chief Paul DiRienzo and would be bringing the item to the Committee at the October meeting. D. Intergovernmental Relations No report. E. Diversity No report. 6.0 New Business None. 7.0 Other Business None.
