Village Hall Village of Lombard 255 East Wilson Ave. Lombard, IL 60148 villageoflombard.org Minutes Community Relations Committee Trustee Dan Whittington - Chairperson Trustee Bill Ware - Alternate Chairperson, Pamela Bedard, Lisa Biegalski, Ahmed Ali, Michael Ledonne, Sharon Vish, Barb Ware, Gladys Piper and Jenny Swensen Staff Liaison - Bridget Doyle Monday, August 11, 2014 7:00 PM Trustees Conference Room 1.0 Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Trustee Dan Whittington at 7:02 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Lisa Biegalski. 2.0 Roll Call Present 7 - Trustee Dan Whittington, Pamela Bedard, Lisa Biegalski, Ahmed Ali, Sharon Vish, Gladys Piper, and Jenny Swensen Absent 2 - Michael Ledonne, and Barbara Ware Also present: Bridget Doyle, Communications Coordinator. 3.0 Public Participation None. 4.0 Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Pamela Bedard, seconded by Gladys Piper, to approve the minutes of the June 9, 2014, meeting. 5.0 Old Business 140237 Senior Fair 2014 Discussion of upcoming Senior Fair. 1. Discussion of potential vendors and volunteer sign-up. Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes August 11, 2014 2. Senior of the Year Nominations. Discuss improving the process to recruit nominees for this year's award. The Committee discussed the upcoming 2014 Senior Fair. Staff Liason Bridget Doyle passed around a list of confirmed vendors for the year. The Committee discussed the potential new vendors who had reached out to the Village to be a part of this year’s fair and agreed that there was room for all. The Committee discussed when the Lombardian photo should take place and when the banner on Main/Wilson announcing the Senior Fair should go up. Sharon Vish asked if we could get the Park District to display the Senior Fair information on its Lombard Common marquee. Bridget Doyle said the Village will also hand out information on the Metra Project at the fair. 6.0 New Business None. 7.0 Other Business The Committee agreed that Tuesday, September 9th would work for the next meeting date. The Committee discussed the lack of out-reach for the Welcome Home Veterans program but agreed that there may not be veterans interested in a parade at this time. Or, perhaps, none have come home since the program was announced. Bridget Doyle said something small will be once again inserted in the October/November 2014 edition of the Pride. 8.0 Information Only None. 9.0 Adjournment A motion was made by Lisa Biegalski, seconded by Sharon Vish, to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m. The motion passed by a unanimous vote.
