190064 2019 Youth Leadership Program
The 2019 Youth Leadership Program is scheduled for three upcoming
Thursdays in February, with the final event taking place on February 21, in
conjunction with the Village Board Meeting.
Staff reported a low level of interest in the 2019 Youth Leadership
Program despite promotional efforts. The committee recommended
that the minimum amount of students be held at 10 in order to run the
program.
190065 Pride Layout
The Community Relations Committee previously recommended that the
Pride Newsletter be decreased from 12 to 8 pages and that printing be
decreased from quarterly to three times per year beginning in 2019,
including Spring/Lilac Time, Summer, and Fall/Winter. Potential layout
options and delivery schedule for an 8 page Pride Newsletter will be
reviewed.
In response to the Community Relations Committee’s
recommendation to decrease the printed Pride Newsletter from 12 to 8
pages, the content of what should be printed in the new edition was
considered. The committee advised staff that public safety services
should be a main focus including Police, Fire and Public Works. In
addition, the committee advised that the Village Trustee’s page of the
Pride may be reduced, as long as their District number and contact
information remain in the newsletter.
190066 Victim Services Contract
The Village contracts Association for Individual Development to provide
assistance to employees and community members through crisis
intervention, counseling, advocacy, education, information, and referral
for victims of crime and/or trauma, the mentally ill, witnesses, and
communities. The Community Relations Committee will review and
consider the 2019 Victim Services contract.
