240407 Victim Services Contract - Association for Individual Development
(A.I.D.)
The Village contracts with the Association for Individual Development
(A.I.D.) to assist employees and community members experiencing
crisis. Services provided included crisis intervention, counseling,
advocacy, education, information, and referral for victims of crime
and/or trauma, witnesses and communities. The Community Relations
Committee will review usage in 2024 and consider the 2025 Victim
Services contract.
The Committee has been asked to review the Victim Services contract
with A.I.D. for 2025. Communications Coordinator Stephanie Calvillo
provided an overview of the services provided and the historical usage
of the program. In 2024 there were 186 Victim Service cases
impacting 225 clients and totaling 747.5 service hours. The Committee
agreed that the services should be extended, but had some questions
about the sharp increase in 2024. Staff will follow up with additional
information at a future meeting.

240408 Policy on Recognition of Government, Cultural and Religious
Holidays for Business Planning and Operations
Staff will share a proposed policy to expand the recognition of
government, cultural and religious holidays to enhance planning and
operations. The policy provides guidance on incorporating a broader
range of holidays into the Village's scheduling of meetings, events and
communications. The Community Relations Committee will review the
policy and consider its approval.
Staff presented a proposed policy to expand the recognition of
government, cultural, and religious holidays to improve planning,
scheduling, and communications for Village operations. The group
discussed the benefits of increasing awareness of these holidays,
noting the positive impact on planning. Concerns were raised about
the necessity of adding holidays to the calendar and the potential for
inadvertently missing some. Staff explained that the calendar would be
reviewed annually by the committee, with an opportunity to consider
requests for additions. Overall, the group expressed support for the
policy.
A motion to approve the policy was made by Michael Ledonne and seconded
by Brittney Conway. The motion was passed unanimously.
