The motion passed unanimously. 5.0 Old Business 6.0 New Business Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes January 13, 2025 240407 Victim Services Contract - Association for Individual Development (A.I.D.) The Village contracts with the Association for Individual Development (A.I.D.) to assist employees and community members experiencing crisis. Services provided included crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, education, information, and referral for victims of crime and/or trauma, witnesses and communities. The Community Relations Committee will review usage in 2024 and consider the 2025 Victim Services contract. The Committee has been asked to review the Victim Services contract with A.I.D. for 2025. Communications Coordinator Stephanie Calvillo provided an overview of the services provided and the historical usage of the program. In 2024 there were 186 Victim Service cases impacting 225 clients and totaling 747.5 service hours. The Committee agreed that the services should be extended, but had some questions about the sharp increase in 2024. Staff will follow up with additional information at a future meeting. recommended to the Board of Trustees for approval 240408 Policy on Recognition of Government, Cultural and Religious Holidays for Business Planning and Operations Staff will share a proposed policy to expand the recognition of government, cultural and religious holidays to enhance planning and operations. The policy provides guidance on incorporating a broader range of holidays into the Village's scheduling of meetings, events and communications. The Community Relations Committee will review the policy and consider its approval. Staff presented a proposed policy to expand the recognition of government, cultural, and religious holidays to improve planning, scheduling, and communications for Village operations. The group discussed the benefits of increasing awareness of these holidays, noting the positive impact on planning. Concerns were raised about the necessity of adding holidays to the calendar and the potential for inadvertently missing some. Staff explained that the calendar would be reviewed annually by the committee, with an opportunity to consider requests for additions. Overall, the group expressed support for the policy. A motion to approve the policy was made by Michael Ledonne and seconded by Brittney Conway.
