The motion passed by unanimous vote. 5.0 Old Business 6.0 New Business Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes April 14, 2025 250146 2024 Communications Report Communications Coordinator Stephanie Calvillo will provide an overview of the Village's communication efforts in 2024, including updates and performance metrics related to the Village website, e-newsletter and social media platforms. Communications Coordinator Stephanie Calvillo provided an overview of the Village’s communication efforts throughout 2024, including performance highlights and updates related to the Village website, social media platforms, and e-newsletter outreach. 250147 2025 Lilac Time Photo Contest The Committee will review and discuss proposed theme ideas for the 2025 Lilac Time Photo Contest. Members may suggest edits or additional themes. Proposed theme ideas include: • “Through My Lens: Lombard” - Candid photos capturing everyday life and special moments throughout the Village. • “We Are Lombard” - Photos that highlight the people and places that make Lombard a great place to live. • “Only in Lombard” - Unique, original or iconic images that reflect the character of the Village and what sets it apart. The committee reviewed and discussed potential theme ideas for the 2025 Lilac Time Photo Contest. Members expressed a strong interest in encouraging new and diverse photo submissions beyond the typical iconic location shots. There was consensus around the proposed theme, “Through My Lens: Lombard”, which invites candid photos that show everyday life and people enjoying the special places Lombard has to offer. To help guide submissions, the committee agreed to include a note in the contest description asking participants to avoid photos of buildings by themselves. The goal is to keep entries focused on authentic moments and community experiences. 7.0 Other Business Village of Lombard Page 2 Community Relations Committee Minutes April 14, 2025 8.0 Information Only Chairperson Dan Militello announced that he will be transitioning to oversee the Finance Committee. A new chairperson for this committee will be named following the appointment of a District 2 Trustee. Communications Coordinator Stephanie Calvillo shared that the Village is currently accepting applications to fill the District 2 vacancy on the Village Board of Trustees. It is a competitive selection process, and applications will be accepted through the close of business on Friday, April 18. Additional details are available on the Village website. Communications Coordinator Stephanie Calvillo shared that the National Citizen Survey has been completed, with the final report expected by April 19. A total of 500 responses were received, resulting in a 17% response rate-above their average of 12-14%. The survey results will be presented at the next committee meeting. Communications Coordinator Stephanie Calvillo shared that Lombard’s Cruise Nights and Summer Concerts are scheduled to run from June 14 through August 16, with a Summer Concert Finale planned for August 23. The full lineup will be posted by the end of this week or early next week. 9.0 Adjournment A motion to adjourn was made by Brittney Conway, seconded by Sharon Vish at 6:22 p.m. The motion to adjourn passed unanimously.
