The motion passed by unanimous vote. 5.0 Old Business 6.0 New Business Village of Lombard Page 1 Community Relations Committee Minutes June 9, 2025 250207 "Through My Lens: Lombard" Photo Contest The Committee will review photo contest submissions and vote on the top three photographs. Winning entries will be announced on Monday, June 16th. The Committee reviewed the photo contest submissions and voted on the top three photographs. Winning entries will be announced on Monday, June 16th. Photo contest submissions were accepted from May 2 through May 31st, 2025. The theme was “Through My Lens: Lombard,” for photos capturing candid moments that reflect everyday life and the people who make Lombard special. A total of 61 photos were received. The top three winners identified were as follows: · 1st: “Dinner For Three At Babcocks” submitted by Ashley Veldman · 2nd: “Love In The Park” submitted by Radhika Shah · 3rd: “Red Tulips and Little Girl” submitted by Lisa Rivers Village of Lombard Page 2 Community Relations Committee Minutes June 9, 2025 250208 Upcoming Village Events - Summer 2025 Staff will provide an overview of the scheduled community events taking place this summer including Cruise Nights & Summer Concerts, Fourth of July, and The DCVB's Lombard Bicycle Classic. Staff provided an overview of the scheduled community events taking place this summer, including Cruise Nights & Summer Concerts, Fourth of July, and The DCVB's Lombard Bicycle Classic. · On May 28th, the Village held an open house for downtown businesses to offer information and resources regarding the downtown events that are scheduled through the remainder of the year. o Participants included various Village departments (PW, PD, FD, CD and VMO), Chamber of Commerce and DCVB. o Business were invited to stop by between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to ask questions and learn more. · Cruise Nights and Summer Concerts is kicking off this Saturday, June 14th and will run through August 23rd. The last classic cars show will be August 16th, and the summer concert finale is scheduled for August 23rd. Sharing flyer for reference. · The fireworks show is scheduled for Friday, July 4th at Dusk at Madison Meadows. · The Lombard Cycling Classic is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22nd. St. Charles Road will be closed starting at 4:30 a.m. through 10 p.m. Village of Lombard Page 3 Community Relations Committee Minutes June 9, 2025 250209 2025 Senior Fair Planning Update Staff will provide and update on the upcoming Senior fair scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st. The Committee will review the list of past participants and provide input on additional organizations or vendors to invite for this year's event. Staff provided an update on the upcoming Senior Fair scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center. The Committee reviewed the list of past participants and provided input on additional organizations or vendors to invite for this year's event. • Last year’s event welcomed over 400 seniors and featured a wide range of services, including flu shots, blood pressure checks, and over 65 vendors providing valuable resources and information for attendees • Committee members offered suggestions for direct outreach to some new organizations that could offer valuable resources/services for seniors in our community this year.
