Village Hall Village of Lombard 255 East Wilson Ave. Lombard, IL 60148 villageoflombard.org Minutes Economic & Community Development Committee Dennis McNicholas, Acting Chairperson Vacancy, Alternate Chairperson Dennis McNicholas, Garrick Nielsen, Matthew Pike, Brian LaVaque, Markus Pitchford, Christopher Carter and Andrea Harnden Staff Liaison: William Heniff Monday, June 8, 2015 7:00 PM Village Hall - Community Room 1.0 Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance The meeting was called to order by Trustee Johnston at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2.0 Roll Call Present 6 - Dennis McNicholas, Garrick Nielsen, Matthew Pike, Brian LaVaque, Markus Pitchford, and Christopher Carter Absent 1 - Andrea Harnden Also present: William Heniff, Director of Community Development; Jennifer Ganser, Assistant Director of Community Development, and Sarah Richardt, Executive Director of Lombard Town Centre. 3.0 Public Participation 4.0 Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Mr. Pike, seconded by Mr. Carter, to approve the minutes from the May 11, 2015 meeting. The motion carried by the following vote:. Aye: 6- Dennis McNicholas, Garrick Nielsen, Matthew Pike, Brian LaVaque, Markus Pitchford, and Christopher Carter Absent: 1- Andrea Harnden 5.0 Unfinished Business There was no unfinished business. Village of Lombard Page 1 Economic & Community Minutes June 8, 2015 Development Committee 6.0 New Business 150268 Items for Future Consideration in 2015-2016 Work Program Discussion regarding upcoming initiatives for future Economic and Community Development Committee meetings. (DISTRICTS - ALL) Mr. Heniff summarized the memo of 2015-2016 work program items. He noted there may be additional items such as grant requests throughout the year. Trustee Johnston said he is excited to work on an incentive policy and this document will be important for the community to have to offer to developers. He noted his focus on the DuPage Theatre site and hoped a catalyst to draw people to downtown Lombard can be developed. Trustee Johnston also asked that the ECDC members let him know of their interest in serving on the Committee for future years. 7.0 Other Business There was no other business. 8.0 Information Only Lombard Town Centre Report Ms. Richardt summarized her report to the ECDC. LTC is moving their offices to 101 W St. Charles Rd on July 1st. The first floor has been leased to a restaurant, the second floor will be LTC offices and an office for the building owner, and the third floor will be a yoga studio. She noted that Capone’s restaurant has closed. Mr. Pitchford asked why the BBQ event was cancelled. Ms. Richardt said it was cancelled due to lack of resources of staff and volunteer time to plan the event. Development Project Update Staff provided an update on recent development activity. Mr. McNicholas said that 425 S. Main Street has been sold and a new business will be moving in. 9.0 Adjournment A motion was made by Mr. Pike, seconded by Mr. LaVaque, to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Dennis McNicholas, Garrick Nielsen, Matthew Pike, Brian LaVaque, Markus Pitchford, and Christopher Carter Absent: 1- Andrea Harnden Village of Lombard Page 2
