050616 Current Solid Waste Contract - Update
The current tonnage sheet was shared with committee members.
Gorman: followed up with the Committee's request that he research
the Village of Algonquin's commercial recycling ordinance since it had
been supposed to mandate recycling. Although it suggests that
recycling may be mandated, it actually is not. The administrator there
encourages recycling much as we do in Lombard. Also, our Village
Attorney advised that Lombard, as a non-home rule community, would
not be eligible to enact a similar ordinance.
