Eileen Mueller led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call Present 4 - Jack Jones, Marcy Novak, Eileen Mueller, and Jennifer Henaghan Also present: Rita Schneider, Commission Chairperson; Tami Urish, Planner I. Public Hearings Business Meeting Approval of Minutes The minutes of the June 26, 2014 meeting were approved by Marcy Novak with no changes. The motion was seconded by Jack Jones. All were in favor, the motion passed. Planner's Report Unfinished Business Village of Lombard Page 1 Lombard Historical Commission Minutes July 15, 2014 130270 Chicago, Aurora and Elgin Railroad/ Prairie Path Discussion relative to Commemorative Signage. Rita announced that Jennifer Henaghan has been appointed from the Historical Commission to the Local Landmarks Committee. This will increase the membership from three to four resulting in a quorum of three instead of two. This will enable two committee members to work together on projects without violating the Open Meetings Act. The committee discussed the work that needs to be done in preparation for the signs to be erected along the prairie path. Jack shared photos from the museum’s archives that Jean Cooper scanned on to a disc for the committee’s use. He also conducted research at the Helen Plum Memorial Library and found three books that contain photos to be considered as well. Marcy will contact the author of two of the books, Larry Plachno to seek permission to use the photos that the committee is interested in. Marcy will also contact the Shore Line Interurban Historical Society to inquire about further railroad information. Jennifer volunteered to write an informational item about the signage and the request for public input for the Lombard Historical Society’s newsletter and indicated this item can be shared with the Lombardian as well. 130213 Local Landmark Survey Discussion relative to updating the inventory of local landmarks. The committee discussed findings submitted by the consultant, Douglas Gilbert. All of the quadrants that he reviewed are complete with individual sheets per property. He will be giving a power point presentation at the July 15 Historical Commission Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Approval is pending for $1500 to be allocated in 2015 to expand the survey to include more sites. New Business The committee members would like the website pages to be updated. Adjournment On a motion by Marcy Novak and seconded by Jennifer Henaghan, the meeting was adjourned at 6:16 pm.
