Ms. Schneider distributed copies of the narrative that Ms. Novak has created for each sign. Ms. Novak was not able to secure copyright permission from Larry Plachno to reproduce the selected photos in his books. Serge Ruffolo reviewed with the committee the type of sign they were interested in and items to include: 1. Graffiti film. 2. Two photos minimum per sign would be desirable in an eps (best) or jpeg file format. If a volunteer with the Historical Society has the equipment to scan the photos in the highest resolution possible would have the best results. 1 mb is good, 2 kb is not good enough. 3. 3’x2’ size with double post and slanted (45 degrees, not table like). 4. The Village of Lombard’s logo and Illinois Prairie Path’s logo can be included but no business logos or advertising is permitted. 5. An example with dimensions and design of one of the signs would be needed to apply for a permit with DuPage County. 6. Last’s year estimate was $600 per sign. 7. Creating a template for all four signs is key for an overall cohesive appearance. Jack Jones suggested distributing the narrative more evenly between the four signs. A press release could be released to the Lombardian and other newspapers in addition to Facebook and Twitter to solicit photos from the public that could be used for the signs. Ms. Schneider said she would call Joe and Larry about the photo transmittal. 130213 Local Landmark Survey Discussion relative to updating the inventory of local landmarks. The committee discussed the concerns and protocol for the survey results by the consultant, Douglas Gilbert to be accessible on the website. The survey will be discussed further at the Historic Survey working group meeting on October 9, 2014 and the Historical Commission meeting on October 21, 2014. New Business The committee discussed the historical significance of Lilacia Park and that it is one of the only plans of Jens Jenson executed and on public display.
