Rita Schneider provided an update on 101 W. St. Charles Road
(Lombard Hotel). A new owner purchased the building with the
intention of renovating the second floor as offices and maintaining the
third floor as a ball room. The new owners are also interested in
pursuing National Register of Historic Places and local landmark
status for the building.
The Intergovernmental Agreement of the Carriage House Expansion
was signed and serves as an agreement for extending the repayment
of the loan until 2016.
Tami Urish is to serve as the staff liaison for the Historical
Commission.
Reports
A. Local Landmarks - Eileen Mueller
No updates at this time to report on.
B. Finance - Richard Anstee
The budget year 2014 for the Historical Commission and the Historical
Society concluded under budget by about $2,400 or 1.7%. The result
is attributed to good cost management by the Society staff and some
salary slippage early in the year. The 2015 budget has been
negotiated at $154,485 with an approximately 3% increase over the
2014 base. The 2015 budget allows the Society to make some key
personnel changes and includes support for the Commission’s
initiatives including Local Landmark recognition, Part 2 of the
Architectural Survey, the Mueller Heritage Award and the funds to
support a National Registry Site designation. Also, tree trimming and
lawn care are also fully funded for the cemetery.
