Discussion relative to Commemorative Signage.
The Committee members reviewed the project with Mr. Ruffolo. Mr.

determined by what would be required to adequately support each
sign. Mr. Ruffolo also explained that the legs are usually painted
black, green or brown for ease of inevitable required touch-ups. When
the project began, there was an understanding that Public Works
would install and maintain the signs. Staff was directed to contact the
Illinois Prairie Path non-profit organization for permission to use their
logo.
Commissioner Novak was able to secure copyright permission from
Larry Plachno for the Stewart Avenue photograph. It was suggested
that perhaps other photographs in the book should be reviewed in light
of this new information.
The Committee members reviewed the contents of the folder of
memorabilia borrowed from the Historical Society. Staff was directed
to scan a variety of tickets and a photo of the Green Valley station
taken by Donald MacBean from the Aurora ‘N’ Elgin book by James
Johnson. Staff indicated that a copyright search would be needed for
the Main Street Station photo that is believed to predate 1923.
