Gerhardt Community Room Public Works & Environmental Concerns Trustee Bill Ware - Chairperson Trustee Dan Whittington - Alternate Chairperson Art Kuehl, John Kaforski, Mark Dvorak, Mike Kuderna, David Arnold, Robert Bachner, Joe Glazier & Allen Hennig Staff Liaison: Public Works & Environmental Minutes September 12, 2017 Concerns 1.0 Call to Order and Pledge of Allegiance Meeting called to order by Chairperson Ware at 7:00 PM. 2.0 Roll Call Chairperson Ware introduced Al Hennig, the new PW/ECC member to the committee. Tim Sexton, Director of Finance, was in attendance at the meeting. Present 9 - Bill Ware, Arthur Kuehl, John Kaforski, Mark Dvorak, Mike Kuderna, David Arnold, Joe Glazier Jr., Robert Bachner, and Allen Hennig 3.0 Public Participation 4.0 Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Mike Kuderna, seconded by Joe Glazier, Jr., that the Minutes from 7/12/17 be approved . The motion passed by an unanimous vote. A motion was made by Robert Bachner, seconded by John Kaforski, that the Minutes from 8/7/17 be approved. The motion passed by an unanimous vote. 5.0 Unfinished Business 170277 Westmore-Meyers Road Safety Enhancements Request for committee approval of proposed project recommendations. (DISTRICT# 5 & 6) Goldsmith: reviewed the Westmore-Meyers Road Safety Project. Discussion ensued. Item will be sent to the Village Board with denial votes. Kaforski: Was disappointed in the presentation that was made by Christopher Burke Engineering. Chairperson Ware thanked the committee and staff for their diligence on this item. recommended to the Board of Trustees for denial Aye: 8- Arthur Kuehl, John Kaforski, Mark Dvorak, Mike Kuderna, David Arnold, Joe Glazier Jr., Robert Bachner, and Allen Hennig 6.0 New Business 170384 Roosevelt Rd./Finley Rd. Improvements, Change Order No. 1 Reflecting an increase to the contract with Alliance Contractors in the amount of $55,211.82. (DISTRICT #2) Goldsmith: reviewed the change order with the committee members. Kuehl: asked Goldsmith to clarify what the intersection will actually look like when completed. Goldsmith: gave explanation to the committee. Dvorak: are they knocking down the gas station on the corner and Village of Lombard Page 1 Public Works & Environmental Minutes September 12, 2017 Concerns building a new one? Goldsmith: basically building a kiosk type gas station that is the Mariano's property gas station. A motion was made by David Arnold, seconded by Arthur Kuehl, that this Resolution be recommended to the Board of Trustees for approval. The motion passed by an unanimous vote. 170385 Sidewalk Expansion Request Staff recommendation not to proceed with sidewalk expansion at this time in the 300 block of N. LaLonde Avenue. (DISTRICT #4) Goldsmith: reviewed the Sidewalk Expansion request for the 300 block of N. LaLonde. Arnold: does policy state that the sidewalk is required to be concrete? Goldsmith: yes, it must be concrete. A motion was made by Robert Bachner, seconded by Mike Kuderna, that this Request be denied. The motion passed by an unanimous vote. 7.0 Other Business 170328 Overview of the Restructuring Agreement Tim Sexton, Director of Finance, in attendance to present the overview to the committee. Some discussion ensued. 8.0 Information Only Bachner: are you aware of utility poles being worked on? Goldsmith: ComEd contractor is performing pole inspections and restoration. We checked into the product that they are putting on the poles. It is environmentally friendly. This is preventative maintenance. Kaforski: is the same company that is inspecting the poles replacing the poles? Goldsmith: no they would just report back to ComEd. I will ask ComEd what poles and how many are being replaced. 9.0 Adjournment A motion was made by Mike Kuderna, seconded by Joe Glazier, Jr., that this meeting be adjourned at 8:07 PM.
