The motion passed by an unanimous vote. 5.0 Unfinished Business 6.0 Ratification 200062 Watermain Evaluation/Rehabilitation Project Change Order No. 1 Approving Change Order No. 1, for a net increase to the contract of $58,445.44. The change order represents a reinstatement of two water services, exploratory excavations, additional traffic control, fire hydrant installation, additional pit excavation, and a credit for two valves. (DISTRICTS #1, #2 & #4) A motion was made by John Kaforski, seconded by Robert Bachner, that this Resolution be recommended to the Board of Trustees for approval. The motion passed by an unanimous vote. 7.0 New Business 200077 FY 2020 Concrete Rehabilitation Program RM PROG 20 Staff requests a recommendation from the committee so that plans can be finalized and advertised for bid. The targeted letting date for this project is March 23, 2020. Goldsmith: combined Items 200077 and 200078. Reviewed the maps, budgets, estimates of costs, and the list of streets to be improved as part of the Concrete Rehab and Asphalt Paving Programs. Kaforski: this is just curb, grind and overlay - no streetlight work being done correct? Goldsmith: nothing in these 2 programs that involves streetlights. Kuehl: Madison west of Grace there are 3 panels of concrete? Goldsmith: we resurface with a light layer. Goldsmith: St. Charles to Graham. Graham to Roosevelt is being absorbed in the Paving Program. Dvorak: what about the area on Wilson by GEHS - widening the roadway? Goldsmith: that has been put on hold due to the lack of funding from the Federal Government. Kaforski: are we putting the reflectors on the lane markings on Main St. when we do the project? Goldsmith: not as part of the project, but can always add in the future. 200078 FY 2020 Asphalt Paving Program RM PROG 22,23,24,26 Staff requests a recommendation from committee so that the plans can be finalized and advertised for bid. The target letting date for the project is March 26, 2020. Taken in tandem with Item 200077. Committee agreed with staff recommendations. 8.0 Other Business Ware: asked for an update on operations for the next 24-48 hours for the storm that is on the way. Goldsmith: we are less concerned about the amount of snow as we are with the freeze back. Will follow the same plan that we have been using so far this year. Also supplied the committee with costs of snow/ice operations so far this year. Discussion ensued regarding the liquid brine - buying the machine and sharing with other towns. Goldsmith: currently purchase the brine from Gasaway. Cost 38$-42$ per gallon. This is a pre-treatment. Arnold: asked about the cans that were offered by WM for brush pickup. Goldsmith: do not have a number of how many are being used. Can get the numbers for you. Arnold: notice that there seems to be a reduction in the amount of brush being put out for pick-up and wondering if people are just tossing it behind their garages or way back in their yards. Goldsmith: will check with Code Enforcement on this. Arnold: brought up the possibility of having a grant program for planting trees on private property.
