Kyle Ethridge, District 9 Legislative Assistant, gave background information on
the item.
Committee Member Kramer, who expressed his support, asked what would
happen if winterization did not occur and who is responsible for maintenance.
Kyle Ethridge explained pipes could burst causing more maintenance issues
and District 9 is responsible for maintenance.
The motion carried by a voice vote and the Neighborhood Development Fund
was approved.

Council Member Dorsey gave background information on the item.
Committee Member McCraney asked for clarification on where the funding
would be going. Council Member Dorsey explained the funding would go
towards the fundraiser for food security.
The following discussed the impact of this appropriation on food security for
school children and free and reduced meals:

- Committee Member Peden
Vice Chair George and Council Member Dorsey discussed how the public may
participate in the fundraiser.
Chair Person Blackwell confirmed the fundraising goal with Council Member
Dorsey.
Council Member Dorsey answered questions from Committee Member
McCraney about the cost and how to attend the fundraiser.

Chair Person Blackwell asked Christopher Murphree about the software used
and training for the software.
Vice Chair George asked Christopher Murphree how VITA was promoted and
how the client interpretation services are managed at the different sites.
Cindy Thieneman read proposed amendments into the record.
A motion was made by Vice Chair George, seconded by Committee Member
Peden, that this Ordinance be amended as follows:
- Add $2,000 from District 9
- Add $1,000 each from Districts 1, 15, and 25
- Add $800 from District 21
- Add $500 each from Districts 4 and 12
- Add $250 from District 8
The motion to amend carried by a voice vote for a new total amount
appropriated of $11,050.

on the item.
Vice Chair George stated her appreciation for this project since the park is
used by citizens throughout the community.
Committee Member Peden asked where the remaining funds for the project
would come from and Jared Townes and LaTonya Bell, Metro Council
Finance, answered it would come from fundrasing by the Miracle League and
Republican Caucus pooled funds.

property. Committee Member McCraney replied that though it was on private
property, the drainage issue affects the entire subdivision.
