O-179-16 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE 2016-2017 OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT INCLUDING APPROPRIATIONS AND AUTHORIZATIONS FOR OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, SUPPORT, AND FUNCTIONING OF THE GOVERNMENT AND ITS VARIOUS OFFICERS, DEPARTMENTS, COMMISSIONS, INSTITUTIONS, AGENCIES, AND OTHER METRO-SUPPORTED ACTIVITIES. Vice Chair Leet provided a PowerPoint presentation (hard copy because of technical difficulties). Chair Person Butler asked Beth Stenberg, Metro Council Finance, to read the Operating Budget Ordinance amendments into the record. A motion was made by Vice Chair Leet, seconded by Committee Member Kramer, that this Ordinance be amended per the amendments read into record by Mrs. Stenberg. The motion to amend carried by a voice vote. Louisville Metro Government Page 3 Budget Committee Action Summary - Final June 22, 2016 Chair Person Butler asked Beth Stenberg, Metro Council Finance, to read the Capital Budget Ordinance amendments into the record . A motion was made by Vice Chair Leet, seconded by Committee Member Hamilton, that this Ordinance be amended per the amendments read into record by Mrs. Stenberg. Committee Member Blackwell offered a friendly amendment regarding paving. Jeff Brown, Metro Public Works and Assets, spoke to this amendment. Committee Member Blackwell's friendly amendment was accepted by the movers of the original amendment. Committee Member Hollander offered a friendly amendment regarding sustaining tree growth in Metro Parks. Committee Member Hollander's friendly amendment was not accepted by the movers of the original amendment. Committee Member Blackwell offered a friendly amendment regarding security cameras in the city. Although, the movers of the original amendment accepted the friendly amendment, after much discussion Committee Member Blackwell withdrew his friendly amendment. Committee Member Kramer offered a friendly amendment regarding the LMPD Chief researching and reporting back to the Council his findings on "ShotSpotter". Committee Member Kramer's friendly amendment was accepted by the movers of the original amendment. A motion was made by Committee Member Hollander, seconded by Committee Member Fowler, that the original amendment be amended in Project 20 regarding sustaining tree growth in Metro Parks. Mary Storch, Metro Parks and Recreation, spoke to this amendment. Committee Member Kramer offered a friendly amendment to the second amendment regarding deferred maitenance, including tree planting and maintenance. Committee Member Kramer's friendly amendment was accepted by the movers of the second amendment. The motion to approve the second amendment carried by voice vote. The motion to approve the original amendment carried by voice vote.
