Roll Call Chair Person Hamilton introduced the committee members and non committee members present. A quorum was established. R-111-17 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING TWENTY-SIX (26) PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 3400 BLOCK OF BOXELDER ROAD, LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY OWNED BY LOUISVILLE/ JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“METRO GOVERNMENT”) AS SURPLUS AND NO LONGER NEEDED FOR A GOVERNMENTAL PURPOSE AND AUTHORIZING THEIR SALE TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF METRO LOUISVILLE. Gabe Fritz, Louisville Forward, spoke to the item. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar. O-292-17 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A DEVELOPMENT AREA PURSUANT TO PROVISIONS OF KRS 65.7041- 65.7083 TO BE KNOWN AS THE EIGHTEENTH AND BROADWAY DEVELOPMENT AREA, DESIGNATING THE METRO DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY, INC. AS AN "AGENCY", ADOPTING A DEVELOPMENT PLAN, APPROVING ENTERING INTO A LOCAL PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE "RELEASED AMOUNT" PURSUANT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE LOCAL PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT, REQUIRING THE SUBMISSION OF REGULAR REPORTS TO LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY OF ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS AND THE TAKING OF ANY OTHER ACTIONS NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THE PURPOSES AUTHORIZED BY THIS ORDINANCE. Laura Ferguson, Louisville Forward, and Jeff Mosley, Mayor's Office, spoke to the item. A technical correction was noted in the first WHEREAS of the Local Participation Agreement, $100 million should be $130 million and $30 million should be $60 million. The amounts are correctly listed in Exhibit A of the Agreement. Chair Person Hamilton asked to be added as a co-sponsor and Council Member Sexton Smith agreed. The motion to recommend for approval carried by the following vote and the Ordinance was sent to the Consent Calendar: Yes: 5- Hamilton, Benson, Mulvihill, Butler, and Denton Louisville Metro Government Page 3 Labor and Economic Development Action Summary - Final September 5, 2017 Committee Adjournment Without objection, Chair Person Hamilton adjourned the meeting at 4:40 PM. *NOTE: Items sent to the Consent Calendar or Old Business will be heard before the full Council at the Metro Council Meeting on September 14, 2017.
