Ceremonial Oath of Office The Honorable Judge Irv Maze provided the Oath of Office to the elected Council Members. President Yates called for a moment of silence to remember the late Carolyn Miller-Cooper, Director Louisville Metro Human Relations and Joyce Compton, Jefferson County Democratic Party. Louisville Metro Government Page 1 Metro Council Action Summary - Final January 5, 2017 Transition of the Presiding Officer to President Pro-Tem President Yates turned the Chair over to President Pro-Tem Hollander to oversee the election of the Council President. Election of Metro Council President - 2017 President Pro-Tem Hollander opened the nominations for Metro Council President. Council Member Flood nominated Council Member David Yates. Council Member Stuckel nominated Council Member Stuart Benson. Council Member Johnson motioned to close the nominations. Without objection the nominations were closed. Comments by Council President Yates Louisville Metro Government Page 2 Metro Council Action Summary - Final January 5, 2017 Election and Swearing in of Metro Council Clerk - 2017 President Yates opened the floor for nominations. Council Member Kramer nominated H. Stephen Ott. H. Stephen Ott acquired the necessary votes and is the Clerk of the Metro Council for 2017.
