The Council directs the Department of Information Technology to present to the Budget Committee the proposed request for proposal for the contract. Included in this project is an expectation that this new technology will replace the need for the Westport Road Study. Any remaining funds and/or generated revenue must be used for either development of fiber backbone and equipment necessary to use it or bond repayment with approval by the Metro Council.
