Call to Order
President James called the meeting to order at 6:15 PM and asked all to rise
for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members Roll Call
The Clerk called the roll. A quorum was established.
Council Member Engel arrived at 6:17 PM, Council Member Peden arrived at
6:18 PM, Council Member Ackerson arrived at 6:20 PM, Council Member Flood
arrived at 6:24 PM, Council Member Denton arrived at 6:41 PM and Council
Member Lanshima arrived at 6:43 PM. Council Member Leet left at 7:14 PM,
Council Member Yates left at 7:39 PM and Council Member Ackerson left at

Court Clerk. Mr. Nicholson spoke in regards to the Stepping Up Initiative.
President James vacated the Chair at 6:29 PM, handing the Chair over to President
Pro-Tem Bryant Hamilton.
President James recognized H. Stephen Ott, Clerk of the Council, and staff and
presented a special proclamation in honor of Municipal Clerks Week.
President James recognized Sophia White, Administrative Assistant, representing the
Metro Council Business Office, and presented a special proclamation in honor of
Administrative Specialist Week.
President James resumed the Chair at 6:36 PM.
Council Members Shanklin, Kramer, Aubrey Welch and Fowler requested a Point of
Personal Privilege to recognize Council Member Rick Blackwell for his achievement of
obtaining a PhD.
