R-030-19 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A SETTLEMENT OF $100,000 FROM GE APPLIANCES FOR RECREATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS AT PETERSBURG PARK TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE METRO PARKS DEPARTMENT. Sponsors:Primary Barbara Shanklin (D-2) and Primary Madonna Flood (D-24) Attachments: R-030-19 V.1 022119 Accepting Settlement $100k from GE App Park for Petersburg Park.pdf R-030-19 V.1 022119 ATTACH CY PRES AWARD.pdf A motion was made by Committee Member Peden, seconded by Committee Member Triplett, that this Resolution be recommended for approval. Jason Canuel, Metro Parks, spoke to the item. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar. 2. O-052-19 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 42 OF THE LOUISVILLE METRO CODE OF ORDINANCES (“LMCO”) BY CREATING A NEW SECTION REGARDING MAJOR CHANGES TO ANY METRO-OWNED PARK AND REMOVING REGULATION OF METRO-OWNED PARKS FROM THE SUBSECTION ON GOLF COURSES (AS AMENDED). Chair Person Fowler and Committee Member Peden spoke to the item. A motion was made by Vice Chair Mulvihill, seconded by Committee Member Peden, that this Ordinance be amended by inserting "for a period of one year or more" to the end of the first sentence in to the definition of "Permanently Close" on page 2. Jason Canuel, Metro Parks, and Sarah Martin, Jefferson County Attorney's Office, spoke to the amendment. The motion to amend carried by a voice vote.
