Jefferson Street Louisville, KY 40202 Meeting Minutes - Final Wednesday, October 29, 2014 3:30 PM Council Chambers Public Safety Committee Committee Members: James Peden (R-23)* David Yates (D-25)* David James (D-6) Kevin Kramer (R-11) Madonna Flood (D-24) * Denotes the Committee Chair(s) Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes - Final October 29, 2014 Call to Order Chair Person Peden called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m. and introduced members and non-members that were present. A quorum was established. Rollcall Present: 4- Chair Person James Peden (R-23), Vice Chair David Yates (D-25), Council Member David James (D-6), and Council Member Madonna Flood (D-24) Excused: 1- Council Member Kevin Kramer (R-11) Also Present Sarah Martin, Assistant County Attorney Clerk Mary Whitlock, CKMC Pending Legislation 1. R-235-14 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $354,286 FROM THE COMMERCIAL MOBILE RADIOS SYSTEM (CMRS) BOARD TO BE USED BY THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR A CALL TAKING PROTOCOL SYSTEM. (Action Required By: April 2015) Sponsors: James Peden (R-23) A motion was made by Vice Chair Yates, seconded by Council Member Flood, that this Resolution be recommended for approval by the Metro Council. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar. 2. R-240-14 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $50,000 FROM THE KENTUCKY OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY TO BE USED BY THE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR ALERT SYSTEM SOFTWARE. (Action Required By: April 2015) Sponsors: David James (D-6) A motion was made by Council Member James, seconded by Council Member Flood, that this Resolution be recommended for approval by the Metro Council. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar. 3. O-491-14 AN ORDINANCE CREATING CHAPTER 77 OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT CODE OF ORDINANCES [LMCO] RELATING TO GOLF CARTS. Sponsors: David James (D-6), Kevin Kramer (R-11) and Jim King (D-10) This item remain Tabled.
