A quorum was established. R-042-17 A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO THE CAPITAL AND OPERATING BUDGET ORDINANCES, URGING THE PRUDENT USE OF BUDGET SURPLUS FUNDS TO HIRE SWORN PEACE OFFICERS AND IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY THROUGHOUT LOUISVILLE METRO. Council Member Brent Ackerson spoke to the item. A motion was made by Committee Member Sexton Smith, seconded by Committee Member Green, that this Resolution be referred to the Internal Auditor for the preparation of a Financial Impact Statement per Metro Council Rule 5.11.i. Sarah Martin, Jefferson County Attorney's Office, spoke to the item. Without objection, the motion to refer the Resolution to the Internal Auditor was tabled. Chief Steve Conrad, Louisville Metro Police Department, spoke to the item. Without objection, the motion to refer the Resolution to the Internal Auditor was untabled. Committee Member Sexton Smith withdrew her motion to refer the Resolution to the Internal Auditor. A motion was made by Committee Member Sexton Smith, seconded by Committee Member Green, that this Resolution be tabled. The motion to table carried by a voice vote.
