Call to Order
Vice Chair Peden called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.
Roll Call
Vice Chair Peden introduced the committee members and non-committee
members present. A quorum was established.
*NOTE: All committee members and non-committee members attended
virtually, excepted Vice Chair Peden, Council Member Coan, and Council
President James who attended in Chambers.

A RESOLUTION OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON
COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT EXPRESSES NO CONFIDENCE IN THE
LEADERSHIP OF LOUISVILLE MAYOR GREG FISCHER.

(R-22), Primary Marilyn Parker (R-18), Primary Scott Reed (R-16), Primary Anthony
Piagentini (R-19) and Primary James Peden (R-23)

A motion was made by Committee Member Parker, seconded by Vice Chair
Peden, that this Resolution be recommended for approval.
The following spoke to the item:

The following was discussed:
- Questions of trust and loss of confidence with the Mayor
- Pension crisis and civil unrest under the Mayor
- 61% of voters elected the Mayor
- People in the community are concerned regarding the Breonna Taylor case
- The Louisville Metro Government suing Metro Council
- Concern regarding downtown being boarded-up and businesses leaving the
city
- Concerns regarding the Mayor's handling of Transit Authority of River CIty
(TARC) and the Louisville Metro Police Department
- Protesters and crimes that are up in the city
- This is the time for Metro Government and Metro Council to work together
- The hiring of the first African American female to be Interim Chief of Police
- Discussion regarding leadership and taking responsibility to put a plan in
action to help the situation
- Problems with the administration under the Mayor in regards to Codes and
Regulations and the ABC Board
- Metro Council and Metro Government need to work together regarding
several liquors stores in certain districts
- High grass and abandoned properties in certain districts
A motion was made by Committee Member Fox, seconded by Committee
Member Flood, to table the Resolution.
The motion failed by the following vote:

Yes: 3- Sexton Smith, Fox, and Flood
No: 3- Peden, Shanklin, and Parker
Excused: 1- Green
Vice Chair Peden called for a Roll Call vote for the overall Resolution, without
objection.
The motion to recommend for approval failed by the following vote, and the
Resolution was sent to Old Business:
Yes: 3- Peden, Fox, and Parker
No: 3- Shanklin, Sexton Smith, and Flood
Excused: 1- Green
