Wagner, CKMC Louisville Metro Government Page 1 Public Works Committee Action Summary - Final January 29, 2019 Special Discussion ID 19-0195 Committee Responsibilities - Chair Person Coan Chair Person Coan read the following into the record: "The Public Works Committee’s responsibility is to consider legislation pertaining to infrastructure, transit, waste management and other public assets, facilities and services. The Committee monitors the operations of Louisville Metro Public Works & Assets and Facilities and Fleet Management, Parking Authority of River City, Transit Authority of River City, Louisville Water Company, Metropolitan Sewer District and Louisville and Jefferson County Riverport Authority. The Committee identifies and reviews issues pertaining to public utilities, both privately and publicly owned. The Committee evaluates intergovernmental and public-private partnerships." Pending Legislation 1. O-448-18 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION CHAPTER 74 OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT CODE OF ORDINANCES RELATING TO GOLF CARTS ON ROADWAYS. R-008-19 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE LOUISVILLE METRO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO DEVELOP A POLICY REGARDING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY IN PRESERVATION DISTRICTS. President James spoke to the item. A motion was made by Committee Member Hollander, seconded by Committee Member Piagentini, that this Resolution be amended by inserting the following language after "demolition activity" in Section I: "and report back to the Public Works Committee within 90 days on their actions." The motion to amend carried by a voice vote. The motion to recommend for approval carried by a voice vote and the amended Resolution was sent to Old Business. 3. R-218-18 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT $305,600 OF ADDITIONAL FUNDING FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET FOR THE HUBBARDS LANE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY PUBLIC WORKS & ASSETS. Mike Hudson and Dirk Gowin, Public Works and Assets, spoke to the item. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar.
