Council Meeting Calendar CY 2027
RECOMMENDATION
This item will come before Council for action the same night, July 14, under General
Business. Adopt a resolution setting the City Council's regular meetings for calendar year 2027.
SUMMARY
Section § 15.2-1416 of the Code of Virginia and Section § 2-6 of the City Council’s Rules of
Procedure provide that each year the local governing body shall prescribe by resolution the
schedule of meeting dates, times, and places for the upcoming year.
Regular meetings of the City Council are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at
4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., with the following exceptions:
• No regular meeting will be held on the fourth Tuesday in July or December, and
• No regular meeting will be held on the second Tuesday in August.
The 4:00 p.m. work sessions of the Council will take place in the 2nd Floor Training Room of City
Hall, located at 900 Church Street. The 7:00 p.m. regular meetings of the Council will be held in the
Council Chamber at the same address.

RESOLUTION:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA:
1. That the regular meetings of the Lynchburg City Council, for Calendar Year 2027
(January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2027), shall be held as follows:
Meetings shall be held in the City Hall, 900 Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504 as
follows: Second and fourth Tuesday of the month, at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; except,
(i) there will be no regular meeting on the fourth Tuesdays during the months of July
and December, and (ii) there will be no regular meeting on the second Tuesday during
the month of August. The Council Work Session portion of the Council’s regular
meetings will be held in the training room of the second floor of the City Hall, 900
Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504. Except as previously noted, all regular
meetings of the Council shall be held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 900
Church Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504.
2. That this Resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
