5. Reports from Committee Members
Committee Member Pope shared that the Event Center is working on finalizing a

nights. She also announced that the City of Lynnwood approved the master plan for
the 194th Street development project.
Committee Member Peterson shared that, despite the difficult first half of the year,
September revenues were higher than last year. Committee Member Kamala and
Committee Member Angel reported that they were experiencing the same shift in
revenues and traffic that Peterson reported.
The committee discussed a potential half-marathon event that would be starting and
ending at the mall but was having difficulties getting the route approved by the city’s
Traffic Control Engineers. Development & Business Services Director Wolters
agreed to investigate the situation further and report back to the committee once he
has more information.
6. Staff Reports
6.A Overview of PFD Agreements and Future Tax Commitments
Tourism Manager Bush explained the history behind the PFD agreement and why it
is important to ensure that there are always reserves to cover those expenditures.
6.B 2025 Lodging Tax Revenue Update
Tourism Manager Bush shared that the Lodging Tax Revenue started to rebound in
August and September, but that the impact from the first nine months of the year
kept the 2025 revenues at 11% below 2024.
6.C Quarterly Stakeholder Meetup Update
Tourism Manager Bush informed the committee that he was working on scheduling
the last 2025 Quarterly Stakeholder Meetup in November, and that it will likely take
place at Homewood Suites at Cassandra’s request. The goal of this meetup will be
for partners to network and support each other’s projects as needed.
7. General Discussion
Tourism Manager Bush shared that he and Committee Member Pope attended the
State Tourism Conference, and that there wasn’t a lot of news regarding the World
Cup shared there except that they were confident that the games would still be
happening in Seattle. The committee discussed the high fees associated with
hosting a watch party for the World Cup and how they are choosing to explore other
ideas as a result. Committee Member Angel said that the Boys and Girls Clubs are
interested in hosting watch parties because they wouldn’t need to pay the fee since
their watch parties would be open to the public.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 AM.
