ACTION MINUTES LYNNWOOD TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE Lynnwood Development & Business Services October 14, 2025, | 8:00 AM 1. Call to Order Tourism Manager Bush called the meeting to order at 8:03 AM. 2. Roll Call Committee Members present: Committee Members Absent: Committee Member Pope Chairperson Decker Committee Member Angel Committee Member Percival Committee Member Irwin Committee Member Pouch Committee Member Kamala Committee Member Peterson Staff: Tourism Manager Bush Development & Business Services Director Wolters 3. Approval of Minutes 3.A Approval of Minutes, August 14, 2025 Committee Member Peterson motioned to approve the minutes as written and was seconded by Committee Member Pope. The committee approved the August minutes unanimously. 4. Public Comments There were no public comments during this meeting. 5. Reports from Committee Members Committee Member Pope shared that the Event Center is working on finalizing a contract with a client who reached out to the city for a festival with 4,000 hotel room nights. She also announced that the City of Lynnwood approved the master plan for the 194th Street development project. Committee Member Peterson shared that, despite the difficult first half of the year, September revenues were higher than last year. Committee Member Kamala and Committee Member Angel reported that they were experiencing the same shift in revenues and traffic that Peterson reported. The committee discussed a potential half-marathon event that would be starting and ending at the mall but was having difficulties getting the route approved by the city’s Traffic Control Engineers. Development & Business Services Director Wolters agreed to investigate the situation further and report back to the committee once he has more information. 6. Staff Reports 6.A Overview of PFD Agreements and Future Tax Commitments Tourism Manager Bush explained the history behind the PFD agreement and why it is important to ensure that there are always reserves to cover those expenditures. 6.B 2025 Lodging Tax Revenue Update Tourism Manager Bush shared that the Lodging Tax Revenue started to rebound in August and September, but that the impact from the first nine months of the year kept the 2025 revenues at 11% below 2024. 6.C Quarterly Stakeholder Meetup Update Tourism Manager Bush informed the committee that he was working on scheduling the last 2025 Quarterly Stakeholder Meetup in November, and that it will likely take place at Homewood Suites at Cassandra’s request. The goal of this meetup will be for partners to network and support each other’s projects as needed. 7. General Discussion Tourism Manager Bush shared that he and Committee Member Pope attended the State Tourism Conference, and that there wasn’t a lot of news regarding the World Cup shared there except that they were confident that the games would still be happening in Seattle. The committee discussed the high fees associated with hosting a watch party for the World Cup and how they are choosing to explore other ideas as a result. Committee Member Angel said that the Boys and Girls Clubs are interested in hosting watch parties because they wouldn’t need to pay the fee since their watch parties would be open to the public.
