This harbor features a public boat launch and fishing pier at City of Madison’s Spring Harbor Park. Accumulated sediment has made access to Lake Mendota from the public boat launch increasingly difficult. A hydrographic survey conducted in May 2020 showed the average depth of the harbor was 2.5 feet. Much of the sediment coming into the harbor is from a major outfall for a 19.5’ x 6’ storm sewer box culvert that drains 2,400 acre urban area of the Spring Harbor watershed. Estimated cost is $775,000. The three building sites will be filled and restored to turfgrass. The homes were acquired by the Madison Parks Division in 2020 to allow O.B.
