The motion passed by voice vote/other. 8. 72558 Supporting and approving the City Engineer’s application to the US DOT by the City of Madison for the Bridge Investment Program, the acceptance of the grant if awarded, and authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with the US DOT if awarded the grant. (5th AD) Sponsors: BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS Attachments: 9204 Exhibit.pdf Developer agreement contract 9204 and the associated plans and specifications are for the public improvements required for the redevelopment of 3722 Speedway Road (current address 3734 Speedway Road). Sidewalk and terrace along Speedway Road is to be reconstructed to provide 5’ wide sidewalk, 8’ wide terrace, and 1’ wide buffer strip. Other existing sidewalk, terrace, and curb & gutter to be replaced as needed. Existing drive entrances that will be removed will be closed with new curb & gutter and new drive entrances to be constructed per approved driveway permits. Private service laterals for sanitary, storm, and water service will be required. There are no existing public street terrace trees. New public street terrace trees will be planted per City Forestry approvals and the final approved site plans. A Certified Survey Map is required to facilitate the redevelopment. RECOMMEND TO ADOPT 12.* 72609 Approving plans and specifications for public improvements necessary for the project known as 7104 Watts Road and authorizing construction to be undertaken by the Developer, Private Contract No. 9202 (1st AD) Sponsors: BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS Attachments: 9202 exhibit .pdf Developer agreement contract 9202 and the associated plans and specifications are for the public improvements required for the construction of a new restaurant at 7104 Watts Road (Lot 2 of CSM 16000). The existing 5’ wide public sidewalk on Watts Road is to be reconstructed/relocated to allow for a wider terrace per the conditions of approval for the completed CSM and the proposed new construction. The sidewalk ramps at the west end of the project are to be reconstructed to allow for an ADA pedestrian crossing of Watts City of Madison Page 4 Printed on 7/19/2022 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS Agenda - Amended July 20, 2022 Road in this location. To accommodate an ADA pedestrian crossing in this location the west end of the existing median may require modification which would be reimbursable by the City. Private service laterals for sanitary and water service are proposed within Watts Road, street restoration to facilitate the private service lateral installations is the responsibility of the Developer. There are no existing public street terrace trees proposed for removal. New public street terrace trees will be planted per City Forestry approvals and the final approved site plans. RECOMMEND TO ADOPT 13.* 72632 Approving Addendum No. 1 to Westgate Redevelopment Plat, Contract No. 8982. (10th AD) Sponsors: BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS Attachments: Westgate Redevelopment Plat_13283 select sheets.pdf Tokay Blvd Resurfacing_13707 select sheets.pdf Addendum No. 1 to Westgate Redevelopment Plat (contract 8982) is to remove work that was to be performed by the Developer for improvements in Tokay Boulevard adjacent to the private development. The City will be completing public works contract 8623, Tokay Boulevard Resurfacing w/ Utilities (project 13707) which will incorporate most of the Tokay Boulevard improvements needed for the Westgate Redevelopment Plat project. The developer will still be required to complete the private water service installation and private drive apron on Tokay Boulevard. The Developer will also still be required to complete the public sidewalk construction, terrace restoration, landscaping, and street terrace tree planting on Tokay Boulevard adjacent to the private development.
