3. Approval of Minutes from the previous meeting
Captain Banks moved approval of prior minutes.
There were no objections.
4. Presentation of MPS Mentoring Plan.
Appearing:
Joe Mar Hooper - MPS director of Business Community and Family Partnership
Kelly Klus - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee
Mr. Steven Mahan - CIty of Miwaukee
Mr. Hooper gave an update on the develoment of family partnerships; this is a very
collaborative effort between Milwaukee Public Schools, The City, the Bucks, Big
Brothers, Big Sister and the Milwaukee County.
Ms. Klus said that big Brothers, Big Sisters has been one of the initial agencies to
collaborate with this plan and will continue to offer its support to the mentoring

agencies across the communities.
Mr. Mahan thanked the attendees and encourage the audience to seek mentoring or
to be a mentor to the uprising youth and young men.
5. Presentation of the MBK Action Plan.

Mike Williams - Director of Community Engagement and Achievement Collaborative
for BMAAC
Annie Kubis - MPS Universal Driver Education Program
Mr. Davidson presented the Milwaukee Health Department resently released a
Community Health Assessment located on the city website(, although this is a large
and complex document, it has helped health department attained some findings such
as that health disparities in Milwaukee go with socio-economic status.
Mr. Williams talked about My Brother's Keeper initiative that president Obama started
in 2014. Mayor Barrett sign in to participate in the initiative as a City in 2015. City has
created a living document called the Action Plan, located in city website
(http://city.milwaukee.gov/mbk#). The Action Plan has the following ten priorities and
seven or eight lead agencies that will work collaborative with the implementation of
the plan.
Ms. Kubis talked about the MPS Drive program.
Restorative Track for Universal Driver Education (for students with suspended or
revoked licenses)
MPS we will work to assist you in restoring the ability to obtain a license and once
you are able to obtain your license we will enroll you in the Traditional Track.

are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists
