3. Review and approval of January 30th meeting minutes.
Shannon Reed moved approval, seconded by Ray Banks. There were no objections.
4. Update on the City of Milwaukee Office of African American Affairs.

ADVISORY COUNCIL
Sharon Robinson, Director of Administration stated the facility is a one-stop shop
service model that houses government agencies and nonprofits. She added that they
are ready to launch the office and they will begin taking appointments. She stated
there will be employment agencies, county child support division, Election
Commission, Equal Rights Commission, and state Equal Rights Division. She stated
that people who want to tour the facility should contact her.
5. Contract information from Steve Mahan.
Steve Mahan stated MATC was awarded $150,000 for an enrollment hub, the ALMA
Center was warded $75,000 for trauma related needs, the Youth Justice Mobile
Resource Center operated by Urban Underground was awarded money, the Center for
Self-Sufficiency was awarded $35,000 for data jamming of the BMAAC grantees, and
the Office of African American Affairs was awarded $100,000 for operations.
Darryl Davidson stated all of the agencies were affected by COVID-19 and are offering
services virtually.
6. Boys and Men of Color Week (October 19th to October 24th) Announcement.
Darryl Davidson stated previously this event was in-person and addressing inequities
and promoting positive images. He stated this years theme is Black Lives Matter the
Intersection of Injustices. He added there will be 2-4 hours of virtual activities on
Zoom, Facebook, and YouTube daily. He stated the Milwaukee Film Festival Black
Lens will participate in programming. He added that information will be available online.
7. Report from Mayor Tom Barrett's Budget and Racial Justice and Equity Stakeholders
meeting.
Sharon Robinson stated the City will now have an Equity Inclusion Officer running the
Office of Equity and Inclusion. She added that there will be a Racial Equity Inclusion
Team who will implement strategies and have trainings about inclusion, diversity, and
unlearning racism. She stated the 3 focuses will be accountability, access, and
alliances.

meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of
the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary
and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety and Health, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods &
Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on
whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the
Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee,
whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In
the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be
taken at the simultaneous meeting.
Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities
through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids. For additional information or to request this
service, contact the City Clerk's Office ADA Coordinator at 286-2998, (FAX)286-3456,

Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit)
at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking
tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall.
Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are
required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing
before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such. More information
