Call to Order This meeting was called back to order at 1:02 p.m. 2. Roll Call Present 3 - Bock, Smith and Cleary Excused 2 - Miller and Collins PUBLIC HEARING 4. 220832 Communication from Mr. Marwan Muna, Self-Help yard Attendant, DPW-Operations to appeal his discharge. Attachments: Discharge Appeal - Marwan Muna, DPW - 2 The Commission reconvened after a break in the hearing process at 3:33 p.m. and while President Bock was speaking, Mr. Muna was interrupting the proceedings and then insulted the Commission and audience with profanity and abruptly left the virtual meeting. Mr. Muna did not return to the meeting. The Commission then went into close session at 4:08 p.m. and came back into open session at 4:13 p.m. to render a decision in this matter. The Commission motioned that the Department of Public Works did have cause to discharge the employee, Mr. Marwan Muna, and based on a preponderance of evidence up to the point of Mr. Muna's departure sustained the charges of the department with the penalty being discharged from City Service. Adjournment In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety and Health, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such. More information is available at http://city.milwaukee.gov/Lobbying. The Board may receive a motion to convene in closed Session pursuant to Section 19.85 (1)(a)(c) or (1)(f) Wis. Stats., if necessary.
