Testing Updates:
• Nurses, LPNs, CAN, Medical Assistants working with Employ MKE
• Plans for Inclement Weather – Roads to Recovery allowed for the
purchase of weatherized tents
• MHD Leadership for Testing – Dr. Nick Tomaro is the Operations Leader;
Celia Shaughnessy represents Milwaukee Healthcare Partnership
• Mobile Units: Dr. Tomaro and Milwaukee Health Department Lab will be
utilizing Exact Science Kits
Mask Distribution Updates:
• To Date number of masks provided: 35,540 for adults, 3000 kids and 200

ADA
• Request is for the Board of Health to continue providing outreach for
masks
CARES Dollars Update:
• Budget reported Year to Date: $15.3 million dollars in expenditures
• Lab Grants
• Vaccinations
Gating Criteria:
• We don’t have a percentage rate that determines a scale back
• Safety plans prevents the scale back for Schools and Restaurants
• Daycares did not have to submit a safety plan

Environmental Health, Wujie + Bria
• Met with Marivel and Amanda to discuss Lead Safety Advisory Work
Medical, Ericka + Ruthie
• LaNelle will join Ericka and Ruthie on a tour of the Health Centers
• Will join a call with Dr. Paradis
Community Health, LaNelle + Julia
• Nicole Miles will be speaking at Safe Baby Sabbath providing an
introduction to community about Doula Program
Policy, Innovation and Engagement, Caroline
• Advocacy for CARES dollars
• Federal level – restriction for CARES
• Local level – allocation of dollars to MHD
• Areas that aren’t funded
• Open Records Requests
• HIPAA Officers
Budget, Alderwoman Lewis:
• Interest in drafting a letter critical needs
HR, Ruthie +Caroline:
• Most senior HR person started their role in April 2019
• Working to vacancies fulfilled – currently 59 vacancies

It was determined that the Board of Health will meet monthly on the 1st Thursdays at 5:30 PM

In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this
committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously
constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following
committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and
Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety and Health,
Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering
and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on
whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member
results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above
committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any
agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of
authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action
other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting.
This meeting will be webcast live at www.milwaukee.gov/channel25.
