Call to order The meeting was called to order at 5:40 pm 2. Roll call Present: Ruthie Burich-Weatherly, Caroline Gomez-Tom, Bria Grant, Ald. Chantia Lewis, Julia Means, Ericka Sinclair, Dr. Ian Martin, Dr. Domonique Weathers and Wujie Zhang 3. Approval of meeting minutes from September 2, 2021 Motion was called to approve the minutes for September and October at next month’s meeting. City of Milwaukee Page 1 BOARD OF HEALTH Meeting Minutes October 7, 2021 4. Welcome and Introduction of Dr. Domonique Weathers, new board member. 5. Communication from MHD Health Commissioner, Kirsten Johnson. 210143 Communication relating to those documents submitted to the Board of Health for its meetings in 2021. Commissioner Johnson presented an update on MHD’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic including current vaccination rates, case burden, and plans to continue incentivizing and making the vaccines widely accessible. 6. STI Update Deputy Commissioner Dr. Paradis of Medical Services presented a STI update on MHD’s plan in 2021-22 to focus on stabilizing the workforce, increase capacity for client’s served, data-driven decision making and implementation of the EHR system Standing Agenda Items: 7. Discussion of DHS 140 certification 8. Lead Program 9. Strategic Planning 10. Milwaukee Health Department branch collaboration updates BOH members were assigned a branch of MHD to create collaborations. 11. Future agenda items 12. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids.
