Chantia Lewis, Julia Means, Dr. Ian Martin, Dr. Domonique Weathers and Wujie Zhang Absent: none Excused: none 3. Approval of January 6, 2022 Board meeting minutes Board member Dr. Ian Martin motioned to approve, Board member Wuje Zhang seconded, the motion passed with all in favor and none opposed. 4. Communication from MHD Commissioner, Kirsten Johnson. a. Presentation b. Questions In the absence of Commissioner Johnson, Medical Director Dr. Paradis and Chief of Staff Myra Edwards presented the Communication from MHD. Medical Director Dr. Heather Paradis presented an update on COVID-19 Pandemic, including the CDC’s transition to new metrics, and vaccinations, and antigen test. Chief of Staff Myra Edwards shared advocacy opportunities and WAHLDAB membership. 211824 Communication relating to those documents submitted to the Board of Health for its meetings in 2022. 5. Wisconsin Policy Forum Report, “Be Prepared: An overview of public health services in Milwaukee County and options for structural change” presented by Rob Henken, WPF President a. Report Analysis and Recommendations b. Questions Rob Henken, WPF President presented an overview of public health services of 11 Milwaukee counties and their options for structural change/consolidation, including public health progression towards public health 3.0, jurisdictions, FTEs, per capital expenditures, revenues, services provided, observations from key informants (PHOs and Municipal elected officials), other models and insights (Madison, Dane County and City of Racine) overall observations, and policy options. 6. Initial findings of the Community Health Assessment (CHA) presented by MHD Data & Evaluation Director, Dr. Mike Totoraitis. a. Data Collection and Community Feedback Findings b. Questions Dr. Totoraitis presented an update on the CHA, including the mobilizing for action plan and partnership (MAPP) work plan and an overview of traditional health indicators. Questions Deputy Commissioner Weber presented the Public Health Foundation 2022 Audit Report, including the scope and methodology, PHFs sample, status of four of the 2020 findings and MHD actions, and partnership expansion. 9. Strategic Planning a. Questions 10. MHD Branch Collaboration Updates a. Presentation and discussion from BOH members on branch collaborations 11. Future agenda items a. Next board meeting, May 5th 2022 12. Adjournment Board member President Burich-Weatherly motioned to adjourn, Board member Dr. Martin seconded and the motion passed, with all in favor, adjourning the meeting at 7:37 pm. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids.
