Board member President Caroline Gomez-Tom called the meeting to order at 5:32 pm.

3. Approval of November 3, 2022 Board meeting minutes
Board member Vice Chair Ruthie Burich-Weatherly motioned to approve, Board member Bria Grant
seconded, the motion passed with all in favor and none opposed.
4. Introduction & Welcome of Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa
Introduction and welcome for Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa as a new Board of Health member.
5. Communication from MHD Commissioner, Kirsten Johnson
a. Presentation
b. Questions
In lieu of Commissioner Johnson, Medical Director Dr. Heather Paradis presented a COVID-19
update including current case burden, vaccinations, CDC updates, and mask guidance; a Monkeypox
update, including city of Milwaukee cases, symptoms, transmission, and treatment; an update
including respiratory viruses such as RSV, FLU, etc.; and an update regarding the Infrastructure Grant
Award.
221532 Communication relating to those documents submitted to the Board of
Health for its meetings in 2023.
6. PHN Lead Program, Holly Nannis
Holly Nannis presented an updated specifically regarding the status and innovations of the nursing
case management of the Home Environmental Health Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
within the MHD. This update included the WI State Statue 254.164 – Care Coordination Children
<6, Elevated Blood Lead Level Definition WI Statue 254.11, EBLL nurse case management referral
trend, case management workflow, performance metrics, caseloads, referrals by year of referral and
current case status, and innovations (i.e., case conferencing and interventions for all BLL’s).

10. Office of Violence Prevention update, Director Ashanti Hamilton
Director Hamilton will present an update to the board during the May 2023 meeting.

Board member Dr. Ian Martin motioned to adjourn, Board member Wujie Zhang seconded and
motion passed, with all in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 7:16 pm.

simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic
Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety and Health, Public Works, Zoning,
Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether
the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above
committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that
committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering
will be taken at the simultaneous meeting.

Bike racks are available on Water Street, Market Street, and Broadway, and a Bublr Bike Share station is located on the
northeast corner of Kilbourn Avenue and Water Street.
Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit) at the Milwaukee Center on
the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information
Booth in City Hall.
Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the
City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing before a Common Council committee are required to
