Cocroft" to West Wisconsin Avenue from North 27th Street to North 35th Street in the 4th Aldermanic District. Sponsors: THE CHAIR Matt Roeker - business owner along Wisconsin Avenue Mike Beal - Center for Veterans' Issues - Brig. General Cocroft founded 2 organizations, a national one for black veterans which had a huge impact on Milwaukee-area veterans and the largest non-profit center in the Midwest at 3500 W. Wisconsin Ave. Throughout his years of serving, except when he was serving in Vietnam, he found many ways to serve veterans. Mr. Benson is concerned that such a large section of Wisconsin Avenue is being proposed, rather than merely a couple of blocks. Richard Rodgers - he feels the state and national work of Brig. General Cocroft merits a number of blocks, if not the entire length of Wisconsin Ave. The National Association of Black Veterans served veterans regardless of race. He provided services to veterans in a various areas around Wisconsin Avenue. Yance Marti - the application is in order; there will be 12 signs required. Moved by Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mr. Baehr, for approval. Prevailed. 4-1 (Mr. Benson voting "no").
