meet with Work Group (WG) members individually.
Vulnerability Assessment: Pam Ritger
Ritger reported that work on the vulnerability assessment is progressing. The audience
is the general public. The aim will be to convey information primarily through graphics.
Brain Tank Media (script completed/ next steps): Erick Shambarger
Shambarger reported the script for Tank Brain has been finalized and filming will begin
soon. He will send the script to Co-chairs to put it in the Group’s Google folder.
Google Folders: Linda Frank
Frank shared the link to the Task Force’s Google Drive where there are folders for all
the Work Groups. This is the vehicle for sharing information while complying with state
open meeting laws.
Frank reviewed the instructions for putting materials in this Group’s folders. Only
Co-chairs can upload documents so WG members can send documents to them for
uploading. Minutes will be added after approval. Four sub folders are now set up:
meeting agendas, meeting minutes, secondary resources and documents created by
the WG. People are encouraged to send resources, background documents and other
information to the co-chairs to put in the Work Group’s folder.
For collaboration on WG projects, small task groups of members can share
documents as long as there is not a quorum of the WG.
3. Discussion Items: (30 minutes)
▪ Decision Making Agreement
▪ Education and Outreach Timeline
▪ Visitor Questions and Input
Evans shared several documents for consideration by the WG. These can be
discussed at future meetings and will be posted in the Google folder:
1. Consensus Model of Decision-Making
2. A Process for Content Creation
3. Education and Outreach Timeline (from the Charter)
4. Spectrum of Public Participation
5. Public Participation Plan – a summary of recommendations from Boswell, Greve,
and Seale, 2019
Evans reviewed, and the WG discussed, the three responsibilities of the WG:
a. Oversee public engagement during the planning process
b. Grow public support for large-scale climate action
c. Effectively convey to the public the activities of all WGs
Several people noted the importance of working with other groups to accomplish our
work. Shambarger observed that we are engaging many in Milwaukee through the Task
Force and Work Groups, we will build on that foundation with the Tank Brain app and a
later phase of public involvement.
Shambarger will be giving a presentation to Marquette U. He will place the slide deck
in the Google folder so we can use some common talking points in our discussions
with others.
Kanthi is contacting groups with her work on the vulnerability analysis and offered to
will help to build relationships.
Visitor Questions and Input. None at this time.
