Updates (15 minutes) ▪ Vulnerability Assessment: Pam Ritger ▪ Brain Tank Media (script completed/ next steps): Erick Shambarger ▪ Google Folders: Linda Frank Evans noted this is her first meeting as newly appointed Co-chair. The goal for this meeting is to review our progress to-date and bring everyone up to speed. She plans to City of Milwaukee Page 1 CITY-COUNTY TASK FORCE ON Meeting Minutes March 8, 2021 CLIMATE AND ECONOMIC EQUITY meet with Work Group (WG) members individually.  Vulnerability Assessment: Pam Ritger Ritger reported that work on the vulnerability assessment is progressing. The audience is the general public. The aim will be to convey information primarily through graphics.  Brain Tank Media (script completed/ next steps): Erick Shambarger Shambarger reported the script for Tank Brain has been finalized and filming will begin soon. He will send the script to Co-chairs to put it in the Group’s Google folder.  Google Folders: Linda Frank Frank shared the link to the Task Force’s Google Drive where there are folders for all the Work Groups. This is the vehicle for sharing information while complying with state open meeting laws. Frank reviewed the instructions for putting materials in this Group’s folders. Only Co-chairs can upload documents so WG members can send documents to them for uploading. Minutes will be added after approval. Four sub folders are now set up: meeting agendas, meeting minutes, secondary resources and documents created by the WG. People are encouraged to send resources, background documents and other information to the co-chairs to put in the Work Group’s folder. For collaboration on WG projects, small task groups of members can share documents as long as there is not a quorum of the WG. 3. Discussion Items: (30 minutes) ▪ Decision Making Agreement ▪ Education and Outreach Timeline ▪ Visitor Questions and Input  Evans shared several documents for consideration by the WG. These can be discussed at future meetings and will be posted in the Google folder: 1. Consensus Model of Decision-Making 2. A Process for Content Creation 3. Education and Outreach Timeline (from the Charter) 4. Spectrum of Public Participation 5. Public Participation Plan – a summary of recommendations from Boswell, Greve, and Seale, 2019  Evans reviewed, and the WG discussed, the three responsibilities of the WG: a. Oversee public engagement during the planning process b. Grow public support for large-scale climate action c. Effectively convey to the public the activities of all WGs Several people noted the importance of working with other groups to accomplish our work. Shambarger observed that we are engaging many in Milwaukee through the Task Force and Work Groups, we will build on that foundation with the Tank Brain app and a later phase of public involvement. Shambarger will be giving a presentation to Marquette U. He will place the slide deck in the Google folder so we can use some common talking points in our discussions with others. Kanthi is contacting groups with her work on the vulnerability analysis and offered to will help to build relationships.  Visitor Questions and Input. None at this time. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit) at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division.
