Update on ICLEI Modeling Full task force will get an update on this during Wednesday 3/17 meeting, can report back to subgroup 6. Equity Definitions and Premises a. Ted sent list of equity definitions from the Wisconsin Clean Energy Toolkit b. Marissa sent Complete Streets Health and Equity Report – establishes baseline metrics that can be measured to show improvement over time c. Using these definitions to help evaluate strategies as we move towards paring down potential ideas. Guidance from Equity workgroup will be needed as we get into more in depth analysis later on 7. Possible Presentations: SEWRPC on Vision 2050 MCTS on MCTS Next and BEBs RENEW Wisconsin on EVs Bob Bauman on Common Council perspective and State policies DPW and Wisconsin Bike Fed on Safe Routes to Schools MPS a. Tanya – DCD parking regulations b. Marissa – DPW parking, specifically Tom W. c. Jeff – WI ACES – future of transportation, automated vehicles, etc d. Ted – important to get SEWRPC perspective – next meeting e. Alderman Bauman presentation would be useful to get council perspective 8. Sub Group Breakouts and Report Back Review ideas from brainstorming spreadsheet Initial discussion of how to prioritize Research and exploration needed Timelines and next steps Breakout into Subgroups a. Discuss strategies from “brainstorming worksheet” b. Begin prioritizing for ICLEI modeling c. Determining what research is needed and what needs to be done outside of meetings. d. Note taker needed for each group and will report back to full group at the end. 8. Reporting Back a. Active Modes – safe walking and biking infrastructure – what has been implemented and funded already and can be scaled. Modeled by ICLEI b. Public Transit – i. Looking for examples of public/clean transit ii. Investing in expansion of transit iii. Reaching suburban and rural areas – IE Brookfield Sq, Waukesha, etc. iv. Mobility as a service – v. Develop criteria to evaluate and determine priority c. Reducing Single Car usage – comprehensive/ coordinated campaign on value of getting away from single car use. i. More public involvement – need cultural mind shift ii. Employers incentivizing workers, etc. d. Fuel Shift – i. Potential ordinance for EV charging infrastructure 1. Example cities 2. Possible incentives ii. Working with Utility to increase charging 1. Public network 2. Home charging (MG&E program) 9. Public Questions or Comments – Up to 2 minutes per speaker 10. Adjourn (Time) In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety and Health, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority.
