Caesar and Kanthi will get feedback from Evans before the event. We can use this information to train folks tabling events as well. - Paid Media: Mabon and McAlister are putting together a paid media proposal to specifically reach Black and Brown communities. They are meeting on Friday to finalize. Erick Shambarger confirmed we can move forward with a radio ad on V100.7. Evans will create script, which we will finalize asap so V100 can record it (2-3 days) and we can start promoting the Green Jobs event. Wiggins noted that the 1⁄2 page general flyers were distributed by ECO at a recent event. 3. Summer Events Planning  Progress update and discussion – Event Leads - Evans: Residential Efficiency - Evans: Transportation - Frank: Land Use - Kanthi: Resilience Ambassadors - McAlister: Commercial Buildings - Omokunde: Green Jobs - Wiggins: Waste  Tabling Update – Piszczek Progress update and discussion – Event Leads - Evans: Residential Efficiency 2 possible events: partner with Sherman Park to promote energy efficiency or conduct a landlord roundtable on Zoom. We need to offer events on the southside. - Evans: Transportation Three people have volunteered to work on transportation events. Transportation has 4 proposals in two categories: electric vehicles and reducing vehicle miles traveled (active modes, transit, and limiting parking). The September bike ride is scheduled, Kraig would like one for public transportation. - Frank: Land Use No meeting last week, meeting tomorrow. Venice Williams at Alice’s Garden agreed to be a speaker. - Kanthi: Resilience Ambassadors Evans shared info on behalf of Kanthi. Pam Ritger reached out to Walnut Way which is doing a resilience event. - McAlister: Commercial Buildings Met with some members of the Work Group a couple weeks ago, who decided it would be best to have an event to socialize the idea first since we are anticipating pushback. The Building Work Group met last week with a presentation from IMT that suggested how to move forward. IMT may be asked to host a roundtable because of their experience in promoting energy standards. - Omokunde: Green Jobs Working to confirm panelists (confirmed Preston Cole, Chris Martinez). Event is Tuesday August 24th at Wisconsin Black Historical Society, looking into safety and health protocols. Piszczek raised concerns about accessibility of the event and asked about replicating this event on the southside. McAlister asked if panelists would have images of their work so the flyer could include people of color. Omokunde will bring this up at the working group meeting later today. - Wiggins: Waste City of Milwaukee Page 2 CITY-COUNTY TASK FORCE ON Meeting Minutes August 9, 2021 CLIMATE AND ECONOMIC EQUITY Samantha Longshore is tabling on August 31st at Fondy Farmers Market and will give a demonstration about food waste. We plan to have a giveaway to attract people’s attention. Not concerned about promoting the event since the market draws their own crowd. • Tabling Update – Piszczek Piszczek has the printed 1/2 page flyers, tables, and masks in his possession. He will send out the sign-up sheet this week. He is waiting to hear from Chill on the Hill and Washington Park. Mabon and Piszczek will distribute flyers this week to local businesses and organizations, and table at Cactus Club as well. Evans would like any new flyers to replace the QR code with one that will send people directly to surveys. Working with Dreher to get this sorted out. 4.
