The question was put: Are there any corrections to the Common Council Journal of Proceedings for the regular meeting of November 26, 2019? There being none, the minutes of the meetings were approved without objection. The questions was put Are any of the following or their counsels present and, if so, do they wish to address the Common Council? Brian Doherty was present via Atty. Michael Maistleman and did not address the Council. Gurdev Singh Ald. Kovac moved that the Common Council resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole to hear oral argument on behalf of the licensee in opposition to the Report and Recommendations and a statement presented by the City Attorney. Stamper moved to renew with a warning letter, not withstanding the Committee recommendation, the Class B Tavern, Food Dealer, and Public Entertainment Premises licenses of Odean Taylor for Jay's Uptown Cafe located at 5007-09 W Center St. There were no objections. Ald. Bauman moved to return to Committee the Parking Lot or Place and Weights & Measures licenses for Brian Doherty for SP Plus located at 1124 N Old World Third St. There were no objections. For the Extended Hours Establishments, Food Dealer, Filling Station, and Weights & Measures licenses for Gurdev Singh for V K Quick Mart located at 1254 N 35th St, the vote Prevailed 12-1-2, with Ald. Spiker voting no, and Alds. Coggs and Donovan abstaining. A vote of those Council members present to approve the recommendations of the Licenses Committee as contained in File Number 191067.
