Ald. Dimitrijevic said tha this file was held at the regular meeting and moved to place it on file since the federal government has taken care of the COVID-19 at home test kits. The recommendations from License Committee are the following: Renewal with a ten (10) day suspension, based on police report of the Class B Tavern and Public Entertainment Licenses for Felipe Martinez Jr., for the premises located at 626 S 5TH St. ("Walkers Lounge & Events") in the 12th aldermanic district. Renewal with a ten (10) day suspension, based on the police report and aldermanic testimony of the Class B Tavern and Public Entertainment Licenses for Nathan T. Tusler, for the premises located at 1110 N Dr. Martin L King Jr DR. ("White Tail ") in the 4th aldermanic district. Renewal with a thirty (30) day suspension, based on the police report and neighborhood testimony of the Class B Tavern, Food Dealer and Public Entertainment Licenses for Francisco Sandino-Escobar Sr. for the premises located at 1682 N Van Buren St. ("Mangos Cafe East") in the 3rd aldermanic district. Payne. Nonrenewal, based upon the second nonappearance of the Class D Operator’s License based for India S. Sullivan. Atty. Emil Obviagele appeared on behalf of Nathan T. Tusler ("White Tail"). Atty. Chris Hayden appeared on behalf of Felipe Martinez Jr. ("Walkers Lounge & Events"). Atty. John McNally was present. Atty. Emil Ovgiagele said that the City of Milwaukee does not have a calibrated system to approve licenses and made a plea for more specific notices and applications. Also said that his client have not received disciplinary actions since 2017 and that the items City of Milwaukee Page 3 COMMON COUNCIL Meeting Minutes February 8, 2022 on the police report are not considered sufficient under the Wisconsin law. Added that no neighbors were present to testify and that he would like to see the license renewed without suspension. Atty. Chris Hayden appeared on behalf of the applicant said that his client has lived in the city his entire life and that he has been a successful business man and that has done everything to keep this business safe and that all the reports from the police talk about being cooperative and supportive with the investigations and that the suspension was not mentioned on the notice and police reports. Ald. Hamilton said that he is in objection for the decision made for the license of Nathan T. Tusler Ald. Coggs made a motion to send back to the committee the Class D Operator's license renewal applications of India S Sullivan and Janet Lopez. (Prevailed 12-3) A motion was made by ALD.
