City of Milwaukee Page 1 EQUAL RIGHTS COMMISSION Meeting Minutes - Final August 18, 2020 3 Racism as a Public Health Crisis The committee discussed the resolution and walked through the directive to create department questions. The committee agreed the following departments would receive the questionnaire: DOA (Contracting/Purchasing), DPW (Infrastructure/Operations) and the Health (Water Works) departments. Commissioner Ordonez suggested the use of Question Pro to collect departmental responses. Data would provide a snapshot of health determinants for each department; what “indicators” would provide a specific response or score. Completed department questions for the following focus groups: organizational infrastructure, organizational workforce capacity and internal practices and processes. Action items: -Commissioner Ordonez will draft department questions for the Policy and Legislative Change section -Commissioner Ordonez will provide Martha with an electronic copy of the questionnaire table -Commissioner Ordonez will contact ITMD regarding creating an electron survey of the questions -Commissioner Collins will draft department questions for the Alliance Building section -Commissioner Collins will compile all department questions on the directives table and circulate for review 4 Adjourn Meeting adjourned at 6:47PM Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids.
