The Board of Commissioners of the Fire & Police Commission held a national search,
which resulted in the announcement of the top six candidates. Those six candidates
were interviewed by the majority of the Board and narrowed down to the top three
candidates: Malik Aziz, Chris Davis, and Hoyt Mahaley.
Commissioner Everett Cocroft - Vote in favor of Malik Aziz
Commissioner Fred Crouther - Vote in favor of Hoyt Mahaley
Commissioner Steven DeVougas - Vote in favor of Hoyt Mahaley
Commissioner Angela McKenzie - Vote in favor of Malik Aziz
Commissioner Anna Wilson - Vote in favor of Hoyt Mahaley
Commissioner Nelson Soler - Vote in favor of Malik Aziz
Votes tied 3-3.
The Chair asked the commissioners one by one, for their vote in case they changed
their mind. The votes remained tied 3-3.

jurisdiction or exercises responsibility, and to the extent applicable, pursuant to Section 19.85 (1)(f), Wis. Stat. to consider
financial, medical, social or personal histories of specific candidates for employment which, if discussed in public, would be
likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories. The Board may then
reconvene in open session concerning any such item following the closed session.
This notice is being made pursuant to Section 19.84 (3) Wis. Stats., "Public Notice of every meeting...shall be given at least 24
hours prior to the commencement of such meeting unless for good cause such notice is impossible or impractical, in which
case shorter notice may be given, but in no case may the notice be provided less than two hours in advance of the meeting."
